New Vertical lines on scans
I've got a cheap Canon MP250 multifunction. The scanner has been fine before today, now it's got a line about a half-inch wide that is significantly lighter than the rest of the image.

Looking at it with the lid up, the light seems to be uniformly bright. Do the sensors wear out? Does something need to be cleaned? Any pointers appreciated.

New Maybe the calibration strip is discolored?

See the Vertical Lines section.

This has some troubleshooting tips for a Brother multifunction that might help.

Good luck!

Cheers,
Scott.
New Ahh, calibration strip sounds right
Scanner is in the teen's room, and she had spilled a drink on it. Time to look for a manual for taking it apart.

Good pointer, thanks.
