Welcome to IWETHEY!

New Yay Korea!
I just bought a 2560x1440 monitor from Korea - a Qnix 2710.

Or, to give it its full title, the QNIX QX2710 LED Evolution II Multi TRUE10 SE 27".

This is a Samsung PLS panel wrapped in some acceptable plastics atop a very rubbish stand (desktop VESA stand will be obtained - I think we've got a bunch of Dell ones at work doing nothing). The panel is magnificent, especially considering the price. I paid £190 and then HMRC added £45 in duty.

I'm really pretty pleased with this. 1080p is a workable resolution, but I spent 3 years at 1440p with the iMac, so I was always going to be pining for MOAR PICKSULS.

And now I've got 'em :D
New Impressive at the price!

The strain of anti-intellectualism has been a constant thread winding its way through our political and cultural life, nurtured by the false notion that democracy means that "my ignorance is just as good as your knowledge."

New Yep
The only downer is that I've got to disassemble the monitor to access the two screws that hold the base on.

Or saw it off.

One of these plans doesn't involve me taking my brand new 27" monitor apart.

Hmm...
New It seems to be around $360 here, from the usual suspects...
New So importing is cheaper, just.
New The Google machine has done that for quite a while, also too.
190 GBP in $

Some conversions it will do, at least in Chrome, without even hitting Enter. E.g. type "27 hectares in acres" in a Google search box. It's usually quite a bit faster than grabbing a calculator (or dragging out Excel).

Lots of magic under the hood these days.

Cheers,
Scott.
New My favorite (which I was just reminded of recently)
