Disappointed, but not surprised. 401K's are a joke. Drafted to help precisely two plutocrats avoid taxes and then used as a vehicle to reneg on a bargain made with workers everywhere (we'll make our money now off your sweat, pay you less, but you will be rewarded when you retire). Hell, the State of Nebraska had first-hand evidence of how bad 401k's were right out of the gate (see Frontline episode on that point). They're nothing more than YAN method of making sure enough of your money ends up in an investment banker's pocket.

This is a socio-economic system from hell.
