New Sayonara, Snow Leopard. Time to upgrade?
Here's your options, courtesy of Ars:

New Wish I could.
I've got a MacBook Pro at home that won't even run Lion. I was going to give it to my dad but now I'm not so sure. He needs the security updates for sure.

Welcome to Rivendell, Mr. Anderson.
New Re: Can you not upgrade hardware?
I have mid 2009 MacBook Pro. Now with 8 GB memory and 240 GB SSD. Runs Mavericks just fine. Of course, I was happy to see that recent Mavericks security fix.

[correct SSD size]

New 2006 MBP 1,1
2G of RAM, maxed out, 32bit CPU. It isn't going to run *anything* later than Snow Leopard, unfortunately.

New Thanks.
I bought a copy of Lion last week for our Macs here, but I haven't installed it yet. Today might be a good day to see what's the latest OS X version our various fruit will run and finally do it...

Cheers,
Scott.
