It is a damn fine first novel from a guy who can set a scene with the best of them. It is labeled as biopunk. It has the bio part down pat but doesn't have quite the flavor of punk to me. GMO-fu, petroleum collapse-fu, corporations are fuckers-fu, human 2.0-fu. If Joe Bob did book reviews, he might well say "check it out."
