New Wolves: under final-siege like so much else in natural world
(Defenders of Wildlife)
Send a couple bucks, if you think you'd like your infants to someday see a live wolf (or don't think that a really fine photograph of one--will 'do'.)

As you read this, Montana’s annual wolf hunting and trapping kill count continues to accelerate. By the end of the 2013-2014 hunting season, hundreds of wolves will fall to a trap or bullet. Last hunting and trapping season, 225 wolves were killed – another 108 were killed by lethal predator control.

And what did the state do this year? They made it cheaper and easier to kill wolves.

Please help save wolves and other imperiled wildlife with a generous gift to Defenders of Wildlife.

Montana is set to become a wolf tragedy in the making. Last year, many of the wolves killed were youngsters - over 30% of all wolves killed during the hunting and trapping season in Montana were younger than 2 years old.

This year, anti-wolf forces are determined to drive wolf populations down to the bare minimum, with a slew of new and deadly hunting and trapping provisions. These measures could spell disaster for the future of Montana’s wolves:

The cost for out-of state-hunters to purchase MT hunting licenses to kill wolves dramatically dropped from $350 to only $50;
It’s now legal to use electronic devices to lure wolves to their death;
The number of wolves a person can kill during hunting season was increased from three to five; and
The Montana legislature made it impossible for the state wildlife agency to close wolf hunting and trapping around Yellowstone National Park. That means Yellowstone wolves can be shot and killed the minute they step out of the park, as long as the quota for that hunting zone has not been met.

Our species is a Cancer, magnitudes more malignant than the simple ones that just eat meat-wherever-found.
We have become both incorrigible, too obtuse to Learn, thus unForgiveable in our daily slaughter of words and creatures.
