I recall that bit of lore too, and that such glass cost $$$.. Had to make-do with the classic Nikon 105 mm Â2.5
My aging Canon S2 IS shall have to suffice until someone with TMS (too-much-stuff) decides to upgrade his aging-2013 SLR for the next hot-setup with all-#s-Higher. I can wait.
(Wondering.. as the #transistors rises exponentially ... about MTBF and, does anyone Fix these things any more?
I expect that somewhere N. of $1500 they do.)
