A stand-up comic has been saving the messages her mother leaves on her answering machine for 10 years. She just published a collection of them as a book and CD. Sample:

Hi, Amila. I just was watching the news and I heard about that little girl who was alone in an apartment for nine days without food. Honey, please be sure you have what to eat in the fridge cuz last time you came to visit you looked like Olive Oyl...
