Welcome to IWETHEY!

New Interesting.
The low-power Intel parts are interesting, but I don't think I'd jump just yet (if one could wait) for a build-it-yourself system. As someone pointed out in the comments, one could get a MacMini for what he paid (and newer/faster ones are likely coming in the not too distant future).

I haven't kept up with all the features and limitations of all these various media center/home server/streaming interface boxes. The idea still intrigues me, so I'll look into it again when I've got some free time (Ha!).

Thanks for the pointer.

Cheers,
Scott.
(Who never did finish his MythTV project...)
New I have a second-hand HP tower as my MythTV box.
It's very quiet. And the beauty of being Linux was that I plugged in the drive from the previous Heinz57 PC and Everything Just Worked. :-D

I think it's uptime is in the manys of months at the moment.

And I doubt the Mac had 2.5TB of storage.

New A 500 GB SSD isn't < $200 either. :-)
Yeah, one can always swing these things, depending on who one wants to win.

But having it already made and optimized and not having to mess with it has lots of appeal to me.

Cheers,
Scott.
