As part of the house redo I want to install a shower enclosure on the 1st floor. This will enable me to make the 2nd and 3rd floors fully isolated, and at that point I can walk down the hall from my bedroom without getting dressed. Damn, I miss my "master" bedroom suite from all previous houses.
I already have a small bathroom in the "3rd" room downstairs, so I have pipes right next to where it is going to go. I will hire a contractor/plumber to do it, no way I'm screwing with this type of work, now that I'll have a bit of money coming in.
Web queries basically shows everyone hates every shower enclosure that they bought, at least in the $300-$400 range. I don't mind spending more, I'd just like a pointer to a decent one rather than guess. Anybody want to show me which ones to consider? Keep it under $1,000 (general goal, but not set in stone).
Also, any estimate of what the contractor will cost for the job?
Thanks.
