Welcome to IWETHEY!

New After scraping my jaw off the floor...
...I wrote a "thanks" note to MicroTel.

This rocks. And yes, I'm looking for some cheap high-value entry point systems.

New MicroTel responds:
hi karsten,

thank you for your pleasant response. and it's true! we will begin shipping
with the new modem next tuesday as per the article.

we are committed to make systems that make sense for the linux market...and,
should we error in our design, then i'm sure (as we encourage) the linux
community will let us know.

as a side note, in about three weeks we will be announcing a few new linux
products...

we encourage the linux community to let us know the types of products they
would like but are not currently available from manufacturers...who knows,
maybe we can do it!!

anyway, thank you for taking the time to write. and, thank you for the kind
words.

have a nice evening!

thanks,

rich

New Wonderful!
How long til M$ tries to squish them like a bug?
(Er, bad analogy, M$ are terrible at squishing bugs...)

So are they preloading a Linux distro on these boxes, or could that be one of the future 'linux products' to which they're alluding?

Bonus points to a company that gives replies that are (a) timely and (b) made by real gen-u-ine humans! (or a damn fine AI :) )

On and on and on and on,
and on and on and on goes John.
New WalMart ~~ US biggest retailer, so -
T'would be genuinely hilarious were M$ lawyers to tangle assholes with WalMart's. And if Bally goes for Microtel in a lateral arabesque, thus raising their cost of buying Windoze = raising whsle cost to Walmart...

Well you can see the possibilities for wrestling Suits. Wouldn't *that* make a nice accompaniment to Judge K-K's hearing ??

Please M$ - Do bug WalMart! Please.. act 'normally' and smile for the cameras.

Ashton
formulating letter to M$ exhorting them not to let Walmart push them around.. though my keyboard Will Not let me type a signature, "Windows fan"

Cackle.. Cackle.. Cackle.. Cackle.. Cackle.. Cackle.. Cackle.. Cackle.. Cackle..
New Coincidentally
I will be moving soon, after which I am likewise likely to be looking for a replacement for this P233 laptop. Not paying the Microsoft tax on a Debian system is appealing...

Cheers,
Ben
