Took the baby and the dog and went across the street to the in-laws' house to watch a movie in peace. (I didn't abandon them, that was the plan from the beginning.)

I can't imagine what it was like when the second batch showed up. The 12-year-old was just telling me, "They kept screaming. 'Oh my gawd, you have a bracelet. SQUEEEEE! Oh my gawd, we're having pizza. SQUEEEEEEE! Oh my gawd, I have to go to the bathroom. SQUEEEE!'"
