All it takes is a couple of suction cups and a proper screw driver. $94 with shipping for a 1TB drive form NewEgg. About 3" of tape to hold the wires again, replacing the tape that was ruined or dried out. Took me 10 minutes tops to put in a new drive and then about 1/2 hour of waiting around to install the OS on the drive. Restoring from backups... that'll take a long while and be finicky. Ehhh. Its been a while since I constructed a monstrosity like those. Though I still have a 600MHz machine downstairs... though its toast. Yes, I had the suction cups, spudgers, tape, and everything else that was necessary. Same $220 charge, though, which she didn't have so I was glad to spend the time for her.
