New No such thing as too big
The minute I get a monitor that's big enough, I'll just end up with a camera that generates even more megapixels per frame. I'm at 18 now and if I save up the magic money beans for a full-frame back, that'll jump to at least 21.

I like my 27" (2560x1440) for photo work. I'd like more pixels, but not more screens. I'm not a fan of multimonitor setups and have indeed rescinded my extra monitor at work; I'd rather have the desk space.

A single 4K monitor would be great. 8K would be getting on for perfect. Cash donations to the usual address, please.

Here is another setup I though was kind of interesting... for a Macbook Pro.

New Yes there is.
I've encountered it. I work with my monitors sitting at arm's length.

Sitting at arm's length the 23"/24" monitors are *just* to the point where I have to move my head to go side to side to look at everything. This of course is *MY* preference.

I'll take more pixels, but not at a bigger size, just higher density. Don't talk to me about this "Retina" stuff, if you can't distinguish a pixel at "your working distance," then its effectively "Retina" anyway. I also don't really like multi-monitor for a single machine... the XW8400 setup will be my actual first one. Only because I can.

Now sure, sitting 3 meters away from the display... sure, bring on the 55" or 70" 3000+ pixel density. But also give my video at that resolution also... this 1920x1080 crap mapped to higher resolutions is shee and they know it.

             Yes there is. - (folkert)

Coding all day leaves you in a state of mild aphasia as you look at people's faces while they're speaking and you don't know they've finished because there's no semicolon.
