The FBI probe into the sex scandal that prompted CIA Director David Petraeus to resign has expanded to ensnare Gen. John R. Allen, the commander of U.S. and NATO troops in Afghanistan, the Pentagon announced early Tuesday.

According to a senior U.S. defense official, the FBI has uncovered between 20,000 and 30,000 documents — most of them e-mails — of “potentially inappropriate” communication between Allen and Jill Kelley, the 37-year-old Tampa woman whose report of harrassment by a person who turned out to be Petraeus’s mistress ultimately led to Petraeus’s downfall.
Well, this is getting ugly. Allen was scheduled to be removed from command in Afganistan and moved to commander of NATO. His replacement in Afganistan is being pushed up, but obviously he isn't getting the new job right now. Allen is disputing any wrong doing, but 20,000 - 30,000 documents says otherwise. Unless the two where working on a book together or had some other huge documents to pass back and forth, that is an absurd number of documents that says multiple emails per day over a period of years.

A federal agent who launched the investigation that ultimately led to the resignation of Central Intelligence Agency chief David Petraeus was barred from taking part in the case over the summer due to superiors' concerns that he was personally involved in the case, according to officials familiar with the probe.

After being blocked from the case, the agent continued to press the matter, relaying his concerns to a member of Congress, the officials said.
And adding to the fun, the FBI agent originally involved in the investigation may have obsessed over Jill Kelley also. This appears to be a one side infatuation at this point.
