New Are you sure contract doesn't allow early termination...
on their part with notice of say two weeks? Should also have a clause for you to terminate early with notice. I'm sure you'll start looking for an assignment now. Maybe you can give them notice and leave them "in a pickle".

Sorry to hear about the situation in any case. Uncertainty sucks when you have a family to worry about!

If you need some help in the Charlotte area, give me a call.

New Should be ok
If they wanted to get out of the contract they could, the point was that managers told to lose headcount dont count contractors as head count. I felt real bad about my manager, a classy lady, she got 10 of her folks out the door before escorting herself for the last time. Hope she does well.
thanx,

New They know that you are going away anyway
they see you as an expense, the others as an employee. They know in 5 paychecks you are gone anyway. So might as well keep someone around to do the extra work that their employees used to do.

Sad that they are letting them go.

I got four more months of unemployment. As a friend of mine used to say, "I am enjoying the vacation". Just a pitty that the Unemployment doesn't pay very much. :(

I am free now, to choose my own destiny.
