Dediu's '10 article
proffers reasons-Why (Apple ascending), with mostly ept sub-analyses in replies.
'Alexkhan2000', a frequent East/West traveler, has several lengthy observations on mindsets of current [then] buyers in the various clientele-countries, etc. Still, in the spirit of Murican Vulture-corporatism: It is not Enough that a One succeed: Others must Fail! I shall not be sufficiently over-Joyed (in this piddling arena) until Redmond is a ghost town, inhabited by one of the roving bands of banana-repuublic-unemployed --lookin fer Mad Max II ... fer Leadership. Goooo --> Visigoths cha cha cha :oTyp |

Played "Monopoly" with the 11-year-old last week
Gave the opportunity to explain why putting houses and hotels on the property makes sense even though it costs $200 for a house, but rent only goes up by $130.
Difference is, the $200 goes to the bank, the $130 comes from another player. So in relative terms, you just went up $260 vs. the competition. Sometimes you're measuring your gains and losses in absolute terms. Sometimes you're measuring relative position vs. an opponent. So you can lose money, as long as the other guy loses more. --
