New fun with rewrites
so using apache 1.3 I am using
<VirtualHost *>
ServerName foobar.com
Header set Set-Cookie:id-JIMJAM
RewriteRule ^(.*) applicationDirect:8081/seeYaLater [P, L]
</VirtualHost>

so in the browser when I go to http://foobar.com/seeYaLater I dont get a cookie
if I use an invalid url http:://foobar/IseeNothing I get a 404 but I also get the cookie

Any ideas.

New answer
because on the 404 the cookie is a response header from the apache server. The correct url is handled by another server which doesnt know that it needs to set that cookie there.
