Google's Logo is PNG. There are some known issues with PNGs and IE7. Perhaps something in the following article applies:
http://idea15.wordpr...e-png-bug-in-ie7/ But yeah, update to at least IE8 if there's no will to switch to Chrome of Firefox. (IE9 may be too big a change UI wise. I know I didn't like some of their choices). |

Read the article at the link you provided that said Quicktime may be the culprit. When I started up Quicktime it said a newer version was available, so I figured I'd install it, then try the suggestions in the article. Installed V7.7, rebooted, opened IE ... and the Google home page graphic was there.
