New Goo on the roads
http://abcnews.go.co...c-on-pa-turnpike/
More than 100 cars were disabled after a tanker carrying driveway sealant leaked the gooey muck for 40 miles on the eastbound lanes of the Pennsylvania Turnpike between New Castle and Oakmont Service Plaza on Tuesday night.

My aunt drove through this last night. The article doesn't make this clear, but it was night and raining and it was thin enough that it wasn't obvious that something was wrong. After a short period of time, enough would stick to the tires to ruin traction, which is when people began noticing. It's a real mess, the damage is huge scale and nobody is even sure what to do about it. The stuff isn't asphalt or tar, but some sort of paving surfacing material. It's very much like tar though. It not only ruined all four tires, but splashed up under and on top of the cars.

...we need to talk about that."
New Re: Goo on the roads
The bits I read called it driveway sealant or something. Sounds like a huge, gooey mess to me. :-(
