Almost NC's are the iMac, etc. No floppy, but network connection, but they have a hard drive and CD-ROM, so not quite a NC. *I am free now, to choose my own destiny.*

Client-side network appliances typically do not have hard drives, but server-side appliances quite often do have hard drives. There are also plenty of Linux- based network appliances.

For example, I recently tried a Web content filtering solution from Vericept that comes as an appliance that you plug into the network. It monitors all traffic against your Internet usage policy.

A good example would be those new MP3 stereo components: as well as a stereo, they need an MP3 server to play their tunes from. Wade.
