Correct, there is real shortage

Announcement have come from manufacturers that their allocations will go to new builds, so no hard drives can be bought from them...distributors are also on allocation.

There are some out there...but not enough I think is the point. On the money side..supply and demand means the prices will go up...cause there's about 40% supply right now.

Sure, understanding today's complex world of the future is a little like having bees live in your head. But...there they are.
