New Louisiana may get 20-inches of rain.
http://www.wundergro.../LA/062.html?MR=1

* Through Sunday evening

* efficient and torrential tropical rains will continue to impact coastal Mississippi and southeast Louisiana through the Labor Day weekend. Rain rates of 1 to 3 inches per hour can result in flash flooding and general ponding of water in streets. Model estimates and the NOAA Hydrometeorological Prediction Center indicates an average of 10 inches may occur this weekend across the watch area. Localized higher amounts 15 to 20 inches are possible... especially to the south of Lake Pontchartrain and along the Mississippi coast... depending on future developments of the tropical depression into early next week.

:-(

Maybe it'll have the slight benefit of breaking the pattern causing the drought in Texas.

Cheers,
Scott.
New Oh Sheeeeeeeeeeeeeit!
My assistant, T, is leaving for Louisiana Saturday morning, scheduled to return on Wednesday of next week.
New Re: Oh Sheeeee . . . .
Well, she says she's not real concerned about 20 inches, so long as the plane can get down safely. Says there are plenty of places in the French Quarter to get in out of the rain - and she's been through all this before and can't wait to get there.

OK, it probably is a thrill to catch your own crawfish right there under the restaurant table, but won't there be alligators patroling the flooded streets looking for for a free lunch?

Won't have to water the lawn.

Or wash the car.

Sheesh.

Whiners.
New damn, guess TD13 curved northward overnight.
