New Serious problem with F-22
http://www.theatlant...-air-force/40480/
A few months ago, Air Force leaders noticed some very strange behavior from pilots in the cockpit of F-22 Raptor fighters. Some pilots sounded like they were drunk on the radio; others couldn't even remember how to use the radio during flights. Lab tests revealed not alcohol in the pilots' blood, but a host of toxic chemicals including oil fumes, anti-freeze and even propane.

It still isn't clear what the source is. It is a very nasty problem, since it's bad enough that the planes can't be used at all until the problem is fixed. For an already troubled project, this is bad news. Of course, it seems like all of the Air Forces projects are troubled right now.

New Hmmmm...
That is just unbelievable. I think they put to much effort in the technology side of things in these planes and for got the good ole common sense approach of making things solidly keeping the human in them alive.

Are they using oxygen enrichment? If so some of these chemicals could cause the "proverbial head explosion in the cockpit" the myth-busters recently debunked from the 50/60s jets. Though it was plausible some harm could happen, no "decapitation" like in the myth.

Nice job. Yeech!
