A European freighter will be destroyed by atmospheric burn-up next week after completing its supply mission to mankind's orbital outpost, the European Space Agency (ESA) said on Friday.
This will achieve two things. First, they are going to use the freighters thrusters to push the ISS a bit. Once they have done that, they are going to deorbit the freighter in an intentional burn up, because they want to test what one will actually do under those circumstances and they want to test a new space vehicle black box.
Hopefully someone can catch this coming down, it could result in some spectacular video.
