Nathan Strum*, a friend of mine over at AtariAge, works at the California Institute of the Arts. As happens every year around this time he get's very sleep deprived putting together the Character Animation program's year end Open Show. The faculty select the best from this for the Producer's Show, which get's shown to the animation industry.

Nathan just posted a blog entry about this year, detailing their switch to HD. At the end of the entry he's posted a list, along with links, of the animation selected for the Producer's Show (along with a few of his personal favorites that were not selected). It's a long blog entry, so search for Opening Titles if you'd like to jump directly to the list. I've watched the first few so far, and like prior year's they've been quite impressive.

* If the name's familiar it's most likely because he came up with the idea for Stay Frosty, my second Atari 2600 game. He also did all the graphics for it.
