I'm planning to get one this summer, 10,942 will be a nice jump from the 3,734 mine's listed at. My nephew (16) was disappointed that he couldn't play StarCraft 2 on his G4, so I told him I'd sell him mine (late 2008 MBP 15", which gets a Geekbench of 3734) for $500, so he's busy saving up his money. He was originally going to buy it around Christmas, but other things like a class ring used up his funds.
When I got my current MBP I opted to max out the CPU, but the small speed bump isn't worth $250. Probably be better to put that towards an SSD. I'll probably do that as an after market upgrade next year after the prices drop some more as I'd need at least a 512 GB drive considering my current drive has 360GB in use.
I'm alsy psyched about Thunderbolt, see a lot of potential there.
