New 43GB for Windows 7 and all drivers?
Sorry, just don't believe it. Now I don't have Win7, but a coworker does on his home built, so I'll ask him.

"Chicago to my mind was the only place to be. ... I above all liked the city because it was filled with people all a-bustle, and the clatter of hooves and carriages, and with delivery wagons and drays and peddlers and the boom and clank of freight trains. And when those black clouds came sailing in from the west, pouring thunderstorms upon us so that you couldn't hear the cries or curses of humankind, I liked that best of all. Chicago could stand up to the worst God had to offer. I understood why it was built--a place for trade, of course, with railroads and ships and so on, but mostly to give all of us a magnitude of defiance that is not provided by one house on the plains. And the plains is where those storms come from."

New it takes about 6GB
At least for a raw install in a VirtualBox session.
New Don't underestimate HP
Most of that is their added crapware. I bet the backup is not what is currently left installed, but everything to reinstall the facture image. Although 43 GB is excessive, even for them.
New nope 43gb to make it just like I bought it
no simple system disk at all

New Re: nope 43gb to make it just like I bought it
Correct...as on the "image" are things like full installable copy of Office 2010, install files for full security suite, about 10 "maintenance" tools provided by HP and a host of other crap that you spend the better part of a day removing once you re-initialize the installation back to "factory presets".

It is a PITA.
Sure, understanding today's complex world of the future is a little like having bees live in your head. But...there they are.
New then Box should not have said
"Fucking winders". He should have said, "Fucking HP!"

New Re: 43GB for Windows 7 and all drivers?
Coworker no help - since his version of Win7 is retail he has the DVD and thus no need to make a backup disk of the OS.
