Welcome to IWETHEY!

New Evolution for Mac?
The Evolution site says that there was a version back at 2.6, but the link doesn't work any more. (I could have told them that ... I found that link.)

If I can't get Evolution on here, what mail client should I be using? I want it to be as similar to Evolution as possible, since that's what I'm using on both Linux and Windows.

New Never used Evo, but I've used Mail and Thunderbird.
I like Thunderbird a lot better than Mail. The spam filter seems to work better, it was reasonably painless to transfer mail from another system, etc.

I can't offer an opinion on Evo. Sorry.

Cheers,
Scott.
New I prefer Mail
I used Thunderbird on Linux for a while (after using Evolution for a long time) and I prefer Mail.

Welcome to Rivendell, Mr. Anderson.
New I use Mail.
It works with IMAP and Exchange, which is pretty much all I've ever needed it to do. Worked for the job, works for home.

New Guess it's time to try it, thanks all

New Mail is a good app.
It seems to work exceptionally well for those that don;t have a clue... and can cater to those with one.

Careful, you might just have a bias.
New Oh I *know* have a bias
I like what I have now, and don't want to learn a whole new workflow if I can help it.

New I use Mail.
Plays nice with Spotlight, is reasonably quick, I like the smart folders.
New !@#$%^&* can't make Evo work on Windows
This has been a minor annoyance, but is really getting on my tits now. I can't click links in messages, and the junk filters don't work. I'm guessing Evo doesn't know where to find/store things on Windows, and I can't figure out where to change those settings.

Anybody made this work?

Drew
New I feel for you.
I switched to Linux and OSX and just gave up on Windows.

Sorry I can't be more help.
New Keep a Linux virtual box going in a primary Windows env
Run your email program in that.
New Hmm ... that might work
Distro suggestion? Considering I'm just looking for something to act as a "driver" to support a single app, what's a good small one? And when you say "virtual box" do you mean that generically or "virtualbox.org"?

New virtualbox from oracle is fine
I am using that to get the ssh goodness of linux on my winders box

New Yeah, just finished installing it
Now I just need a good, minimal distro to put in it.

Feh ... We've got a good connection at work, I'll just pull the regular Ubuntu. Been meaning to check out 10.10 anyway.

New Woo! This is schweet
Full install of Ubuntu 10.10 in Virtualbox, seamless mode. Syncing my inbox now.

Haven't tried copy-paste yet, but the docs say it will work.

New Glad to be of help
Payback for the lightly breaded fried in butter chicken breast recipe.
My TL roasted it in butter in the toaster oven the 2nd day around, even better.
New Coolio
BTW are there any activities planned for the morning after? Not trying to wrangle an invitation or anything, just wondering what time I should plan on getting back to my parents' place.

New That was a long time ago
Then again, I am a pack rat, let's see if I kept any.
New Tight timing on the morning after
We are staying in the hotel that night.

I'd love to get together for breakfast, but then I have to take the tuxes back (I did a single rental of 5 of them), and then go to the shore, where we then go cruising on a big boat for a few days.

New We'll be around until 11 or 12 Saturday morning
Then we start the drive back.

Should be a fun trip: we're visiting DC, Annapolis, Swarthmore, and Amherst the preceding week.
