The problem is that no matter what you do, you end up logged in as WelcomeGuest. Isn't there a config option to disallow using this as a default? Would that force users to have to log in?

Actually, I prefer that users have to be logged in under a real username to edit anyway. Read-only is fine, of course, but with editing as wide-open as Wiki encourages, there has to be an audit trail for any kind of peer-review to work.

NOTE: In the TWiki distribution package, the twiki/data/.htpasswd.txt file contains several TWiki core team user accounts and a guest user account. You probably want to remove those accounts by deleting the entries in .htpasswd. Do not remove the guest user if you want to allow guest logins.

It seems like deleting the guest user might solve the login problems. Ideally of course we'd like to be able to log in as the guest user or a "real" user, but if this does what it soulds like it should take be good enough most of the time.

There's a config problem that's preventing logins from working right. The root URL is also known to have a problem. Scott told us that once he's got some time to play with it both problems should be fixed.
