New I use ImageCapture
never had to install anything for my old Epson 2480 to work.

I found this page at Apple that might help, it lists supported scanners

New +1 to this.
Our All in one (epson something) just works with Image Capture.

Every once in a while we have to shut off the scanner and reboot the iMac. Usually after a system update.

Other than that... it just works.

I saw that. I guess the LIDE80 is too old.

I've got to check a few other things, though. It doesn't power cycle when the Macs are rebooted, unlike when it was hooked up to my Winders machine. It does show up in System Profiler, so it seems to know it's there.

Maybe the trick is to install the French driver - http://forums.macrum...read.php?t=503869 There are some other tips on the 2nd page.
