... the cop walks next to him warning that he's about to be tasered. I don't know what the local rules of engagement are, but tasers are supposed to be for protection, and used in lieu of deadly force options. They are not supposed to be for suspect compliance. --

Have you seen digby on this subject?
It's one of the many items she keeps an eye on. There are far too many stories of Tasers being used for punishment when the officer would not have drawn his/her gun.
