New Anyone catching Obama press conf. on oil spill?
Info offered seems.. competent, illuminating, rumor-eviscerating and -- overall -- a polar-opposite of every blurb from the Cheney Shogunate. Imagine an ignoramous trying to pretend competence on any scale..

I could almost see voting for Palin in 2012 on the grounds that this sorry ratfucking excuse for a republic, this savage, smirking, predatory empire deserves her. Bring on the Rapture, motherfuckers!

New He has had a month to learn the lingo
and no one has challenged that he's a smart guy.
I will choose a path that's clear. I will choose freewill.
New No one?
http://blog.vdare.co...n-dollars-he-was/

I think he would dispute that.

Cheers,
Scott.
New test scores do not measure intelligence
New Ok, no one but >that guy<
and maybe one or 2 other internet kooks with time enough to blog.
I will choose a path that's clear. I will choose freewill.
New Had he scored straight Cees ... ...
What would be called into question would be the relevance of that school's / any schools 'grading' -- at very least it would indicate that the grades neither predicted.. (nor could they have measured)
-- the quality of mind now evidenced with every complete-sentence since the one which first got him Noticed as
-??- (exuding Sanity in a milieu where doubletalk and slogans predominate to the point of being mostly, trite politico-doggerel.)

IIRC Einstein also did poorly in the Grade game.

New Bzzt, thanks for playing

Um… have you heard about this guy Einstein? Famous physicist? Relativity and all that? A genius, even? I’m pretty sure little Albert could handle his business in 4th grade arithmetic. Yes, contrary to popular belief, Einstein was a top student in elementary school, getting mostly “4″s (on the German grading scale of 1-4), which idiot Americans later assumed, backwardly, were “D”s. The idea stuck because everybody loves the idea that their poor student can go on to great things. Sorry, parents, Einstein was teaching himself calculus at age 12. Your little lip-twiddling retard will be working at Hardee’s.

New Yeah.. just Checkin
I hadn't heard the 4? -->1 explanation, but unsurprising that such a meme would circulate
But your source gets a (US) D, if Æ really did get '4's: 1=='sehr gut' ie mucho bueno.
http://www.justlande...ion/State-schools

And it wouldn't surprise me if he Got '4's: it must have been unutterably boring for him, reading Heinrich und Jane in such a er, wissenschafft (Not!)

I think I can find some authentic examples though. And Summerhill (UK) -- an early experiment in non-didactic 'teaching' -- is replete with examples
... like the kid who hadn't learned to read at usual appropriate time. One day asked a Teach about butterflies, about which he had become Interested. He replied,
"Sorry, know little ... but we have several books on them in library.."

Yep, you guessed it ... IIRC a couple? few weeks, in any case. Probability of truthiness: est 0.9 or so.
