Been watching Dexter on NetFlix
Holy crap this is a good show. And the bowdlerized version that was on network TV cut out so much more than just the sex and language.
That would make an interesting topic for a film school grad thesis. Look at what is cut from various movies and cable shows to put them on network TV, and see what that says about the values being passed on. --

I also like Showtime's series Nurse Jackie, United States of Tara and Weeds.

Tara is excellent.
A real serial, not just a mere series.
We got it Down Under on ABC2 which has a reputation for showing a shows a whole series at a time (i.e. one a week until over) unlike the three commercial networks who interrupt a run often and for no reason at all. The local press just about fell over itself pointing that out. Not that the commercial channels would have shown it. It was way too edgy for them. Very intellectual TV. Wade. Q:Is it proper to eat cheeseburgers with your fingers? A:No, the fingers should be eaten separately. |

Season #1 just plain rocked.
Season #2 was pretty lame. Season #3 was much better, but didn't match up to season 1 in quality. I hope the writers kick it up for season #4. "Chicago to my mind was the only place to be. ...
