New vmware question
I have a redhat 5.4 box with vmware on it. Im using bridged networking.
vmnet0 points to eth0 on host eth0 on image
vmnet1 points to eth4 on host and eth1 on image
vmnet2 points to eth5 on host and eth2 on image

all of the host ports are carrying traffic
vmnet1 and vmnet2 carry traffic fine.
when the kernel on the image boots I get a RTNETWORKS: Network is unreachable error

any ideas of where to start looking? Spent a lot of last week fighting this. Re-installed 24 or 25 times.
vmware sux :-(

New nevermind re-install 26 got it
when you rip out the network with a vmware-config.pl and reinstall the network apparently deep in the guts it holds its old info that needs the fekking gui to remove then re-add as well. grrrr

New Yeah, when I was installing Debian . . .
. . as a VM Ware client I had to recompile the kernel - and then Debian couldn't see the CDROM drive, which we needed. About the 15th clean-up, reinstall and compile it finally worked. I don't know why it worked that time.

I told my client I didn't know why it worked that time. His response was, "I don't care. It's working. Ship it!".
