I never read any of it, so this was all new for me. I was surprised at the alternate history aspect, and how political it was. I really liked that it was ambiguous about the "moral" of the story: Who was "good" and who was "evil"? Hard to say.

I can easily imagine the added depth in the novel. Guess I'll have to look for it at the library.
