New Can you use Subversion "backwards"?
I'm doing my development on a hosted server. I want to keep a copy of it on my local box for backup. Should I set up a Subversion repository on the server and take snapshots of that? Or is it possible to host the repository here, and pull the updates down from the server?

Can't see why you can't do either.

My home ubuntu system has svn on it now. I can connect to it from my dev box (windows) or the ubuntu system (local) or from a 3rd completely different system.

Offhand-I would recommend putting it on a server that's regularly backed up.

This is the reference implementation of the self-referential joke.
