Have you tried Borax?
Don't know if they use that name on Oz: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Borax
Mix it 50/50 with sugar and leave a small capfull -- like a milk cap -- in the line of march. They pick it up, bring it home, and it dissolves the exoskeletons back in the hive. --
