New Any reason to have apt-cacher running on a single machine?
For some reason it's churning away at 50% cpu, and I've only got this one machine on my local. I may have installed it when I was using the laptop regularly. Should I remove it, or is there a way to just disable it?

New Nope.
If you only have one machine doing it and you are not using *IT* to service other machines... then no.
