A piece the other year in Esquire—it may be that I've posted the link previously—that includes a shrewd analysis of what it is he brings to Apple, and why he'll be difficult to replace.
He's a smart fella, this one. The fact that he's part huckster makes us tend to undervalue the weird blend of Edison, Blake and Leonardo that makes up the rest of him.
