Between this sort of thing and the "Launch party" dumbth, you wonder: how does Microsoft do it?

They *really* don't want you using that, do they?

And its probably the feature I use the most.
All frequently used programs are there..and I don't "hide" the toolbar.
I will choose a path that's clear. I will choose freewill.

Are you on Vista yet?
My work computer is Vista-ed, and I've become very used to using the Search-o-Tron that's on the Start menu.

But on Win7 the whole taskbar is a Quick Launch bar
Unless you're one of those that can't stand having their chocolate(1) in their peanut butter(2).

Doncha know Windows users don't like change? ;-)
But then, that is a fairly well-founded fear: Microsoft try to 'improve' things when they change them. So I'm betting MS will do something horribly mis-imagined with this change to the taskbar. After all, it's not a new idea. NextStep's app icons function like that.
Wade. Q:Is it proper to eat cheeseburgers with your fingers? A:No, the fingers should be eaten separately. |

The W7 taskbar is a great improvement.
Quick Launch is exposed as the pile of fetid underpants it is, by it.
Aero Peek and the new right-click menus are just part of the "woo, that's better"-ness. |

Ok then
no worries for me because I like reese cups.
article made it appear that the functionality was now missing. Have not, and likely will not for some time bother with Win7. Kids have Vista and I have Ubuntu (home) and XP (work and home (when doze is needed)) I will choose a path that's clear. I will choose freewill.

It's a keeper..
One of the more succinct examples; will be bitchin for saving breath / sending a link instead, when some naif asks, ~~ wtf do you despise Doze?
on so visceral a level that you just snapped in-half your Parker 51 pen relic.. |
