Its able to be used ANYWHERE, as long as you take care to run the RC properly.

The Interface, you no longer do administrative work from the actual remote console, rather the Web Access Infrastructure thinger.

I believe its very nice.

I also know its been made to be managed from other products. *PLUS* there is an API server that allows you to programmatic-ly control the VMs, including registering them, starting upgrading... etc. its call the VIX server.

But in any case, I really cannot be inclined to think its worse, the speed improvement in 1 vs 2 is again Night and Day. They also rebuilt much of the netowrking code and borrowed from teh ESX/GSX stuffs which is more similar to the IBM VM stuff the mainframes VM stuffs.

Over all, I think things are TONS faster and much more efficient. If the management interface is all web based, I'm fine with that... and yes using Apache Tomcat I think is a good thing.
