The problem with Oracle is that they have *SO MANY* Production "bugs^H^H^H^Hfeatures"... and so many products relying on the specific bugs for either performance, shortcuts or legacy support that it'd be impossible to flatten out and refactor Oracle to any really truly usable Open Source product.

I'm thinking Oracle might do it if it were to see benefits from people chompin at the bit to make things happen with a "Community" Version of Oracle.
