If you're using Firefox, take a look at iMacros. It sounds be perfect for the task you describe. I haven't used it myself.

If you're looking for more general automation of a GUI, Python should be a good choice. E.g. Take a look at this: http://www.brunningo...inGuiAuto.py.html It automates the Windows GUI.

Extending it to other GUI's is left as an exercise for the reader... ;-)
