New Is the Thunderbird spam filter brain dead?
(2.0.0.21 on Win32)

Why does it let through hundreds of e-mails from "MensHealth.com" and "Restricted Rx" when I mark each of them as Junk? Isn't it smart enough to look at the "From" header? Do I need to finally break down and install a separate spam filter?

Grr.

Cheers,
Scott.

New yes
what is in front of it? Your isp or gummint agency should have a "this is spam" address, use it diligently, it helps all of us
you could use an alternate mua some are better than others but may cost
New My ISP doesn't filter anything, I don't think.
I'm using POP and do my own filtering. I don't have anything other than Thunderbird doing mail filtering.

One of the MensHealth.com spams:

I'm rusty at interpreting this stuff, but it looks like it's coming from Poland and being routed through SpamArrest. Is my ISP using SpamArrest and is that the weak link?

Thanks a bunch.

Cheers,
Scott.
New why dont you email me off line your provider?
then I could be better at how to avoid these
New Thanks. Sent to Netscape.
