New Does CoolType work on desktop LCD's?
I've got w2kPro and a MultiSync LCD1830. I've seen Peter rave about the performance of CoolType on laptops and figured it should work as well on a dektop LCD.

The only thing I can find that seems to be nearly what I'm looking for is Display Properties->Effects->Smooth Edges of Screen Fonts. Is this the same as CoolType? I've tried it and can't see any difference.

It's ClearType, and it's found in Windows XP. (CoolType is an alternative font antialiasing method that Adobe Acrobat has.)

W2K doesn't have it, sorry :(

If you get XP, yes, ClearType will look wondrous for you.

New Well, that's not an option
If this were a personal system, and I had already drunk the w2k-flavored KoolAid, I'd probably go ahead and do it. Thanks for the answer anyway.
