It seems to be a pretty balanced review. Unfortunately, although some Shanghai parts are out now, it sounds like it's better to wait 3-6 months to get the higher clock speed versions with HT3-enabled features rather than jumping on board now. (Of course, it's always the case that it's better to wait when buying PC stuff, but still). I hope AMD will be around by then. :-/
Newegg's cheapest Shanghai is $370 for a 2.3 GHz part ($990 for 2.7 GHz). The comparable 2.3 GHz Barcelona part is $250 (with a larger thermal envelope; a 2.7 GHz Barcelona isn't listed).
Hmm. There's a Tyan S2912G2NR server motherboard for dual Shanghais for $70. That's too cheap (only 2 slots!)...
