How long before judges start to realize that the only way to reconcile these amendments with the rest of the Constitution is to ban ALL marriage? Not in the social or religious sense, but in the legal sense. Not "it is illegal to be married" but "the government does not DO marriage, that's up to you, your spouse, your friends, and your church".
What I see happening next is quick legislation that establishes a type of personal corporation (and this gets a little complicated in states where domestic partnerships are banned) that handles the legal stuff but doesn't officially have anything to do with screwing. All marriages would be converted retroactively to this new type of corporation.
