Welcome to IWETHEY!

New Happy Halloween, Yall!
The little ghoulies and ghosties are about to descend upon us.

Will post a pic of my beeeyoooteeefull costume when the festivities wind down.

Smile,
Amy
New Right back at ya!
Post that pic of me I sent you if you still have it (if you dont mind). I accidentally deleted it.

The little ones are done for the night. The big kids are still out. We have a Middle Eastern family that moved in down the block. They dont speak much English. Their kids were running up and down the street with no costumes and Easter baskets screaming "Happy Halloween!". It kept me amused.

My sister came over this year and took the kids out. I got to sit on the porch and drink apple cider while giving out candy. It was nice.

If your kids bring home any extreme sour warheads, try one. I double dog dare you.

New Boo!

New You too!
A group of kids in the neighborhood here was escorted by a guy dressed up as a loaf of Wonder bread. He was scary!

Cheers,
Scott.
New We don't have that here anymore.
The California Wonder Bread plants were closed a couple months ago - and may now be haunted - but probably only by unfunded mental patients.

New A recent record for trick-or-treaters
I don't get a lot any more because my house is now at the edge of the single family area and hs locked gate condos on three sides - so fifteen this year is pretty good.

Two may have been non-Korean, and girls outnumbered boys by at least a third.

You don't see many white kids here any more. The white population has aged and their kids have gone away. Those few left with kids are yuppies and bus their "precious darlings" off to "organized activities" somewhere else on Halloween. The Armenians (token whites) are fewer here now and Mexicans are not to be seen at all.

Of course this population thing greatly bothers the old timers and the folks who run the Chamber of Commerce (there are no Koreans in the Chamber of Commerce even though half the businesses here have signs in Korean). The Armos were bad enough - now this!

The old timers and CC folks would be a lot more comfortable with La Crescenta as it was in 1940 - Bund headquarters - with full dress Nazi rallies held in Hindenburg Park (since renamed).

The Koreans are fine by me, but the Korean groceries here are a bit overpriced. I pay a lot less down in Vietnam and the Philippines (Vietnam is 20 miles away but the Philippines is only 5).

And a note on Asian demographics. A lot of the young Korean girls here are noticeably on the plump side. Even in Japan the upscale boutiques (which traditionally carried only two sizes) are moving the "plus sizes" up to the front of the store (Wall Street Journal). No question, the traditional emaciated body form is going out of style.
