New Anent that last - book: 'The Nine' just out
Author of [link|http://www.npr.org/templates/story/story.php?storyId=14384753| The Nine] was on for an hour with Terry Gross, today (NPR)

It should be a fascinating read; a surprisingly revealing dissection of O'Connor's change from (initially.. quite higher expectations of a Quite-different kind of GWB) on through ... disillusionment and into outright disgust - her decision to leave was Only to care for husband with Alzheimers. Then, not at all ever Wanting to give Bush this slot / but she'd already given notice: husband worsens beyond her ability to help at all. Other facets, beyond irony. Never mind her pain: Ours too.

Discussion too, of the sElection of our pResident - apparently more revealing because sources will not be named; you trust the author. Or not.

Irony abounds, and the character sketches of the remaining members - will leave any ordinary, healthy person weeping: at what is coming. The New Kids are apparently, like marlowe 100% infected with the Certainty virus. And the Chief honcho is thoroughly versed in argument tactics of the pseudo-science of "the law" - combine that with Certainties and - We Poor Bastards.

So much of this coming juggernaut of Reactionary shitstorm - has been enabled by that stereotypical "succession of little random happenstances" - just like Real liff.

ie. By anyother name - Bummer :-/

New Sounds interesting.
He was also on [link|http://www.npr.org/templates/story/story.php?storyId=14505105|Fresh Air] today. I haven't listened to it yet (I saw it mentioned in a review at Amazon).

Thanks for the pointer.

Cheers,
Scott.
